We’ve watched plenty of NPR Tiny Desk concerts but never have we seen a DJ jump on the turntables and rock the microphone for an extended period, with a band.
DJ Premier is the first to do it and he’s showing the office why he’s legendary on the one’s and two’s. Alongside The Badder Band (his touring outfit), Primo ran through a nine-song set, which included some of his classics. Considering it was just a half-hour set, he couldn’t run through other records from his extensive catalog, but we’re content with the ones he did play.
