Under the name Everything Is Recorded, XL Recordings founder Richard Russell released a new EP titled Close But Not Quite back in May. He returns today with a video for the standout title track, “Close But Not Quite,” which features vocals from the always great Sampha.
Directed by Scott Wright, the clip finds Sampha and Russell doing their thing in the stuido, with cameos from Tic, Brian Eno, Obongjayar, Ibeyi, Fabi Palladino, Peter Gabriel and Infinite Coles. There’s also footage of the late Curtis Mayfield singing the sample they used.
