JAY Z and Dame Dash have won a $7 million lawsuit over the Roc-A-Fella logo, in which New York clothing designer Dwayne Walker claimed he created the label’s logo and was entitled to royalties. US District judge Andrew Carter dismissed the case on Monday in Manhattan, over a contract allegedly signed two decades ago by Dame Dash. However, Walker plans to appeal.
The judge found lack of evidence that the contract existed, with only two other people claiming to have seen it. “This leaves only plaintiff’s own self-serving testimony that he drafted the contract, that he and Dash signed it, and that he lost track of it in 1998,” Carter said.
