Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ Goes Platinum

K. Dot Earns Another Platinum Album

Following its release in March last year, Kendrick Lamar‘s To Pimp a Butterfly album is now certified platinum. The news goes hand in hand with the RIAA’s updated album award methodology, which will now involve audio and video streams counting towards its gold and platinum program, instead of just sales. As well as K. Dot, Big Sean’s Dark Sky Paradise is platinum and The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness is now 2x platinum, along with Wale’s Ambition going gold.

Back in 2013, Kendrick’s good kid, m.A.A.d city album also went platinum just under a year after it came out.
