Many people out there might not know the name Diane Martel, or maybe it’s become familiar as of recently, but she’s actually been in the game since 1993. Directing videos for A-list artists for 20 years is no easy feat, but she’s done so skillfully. With a background in choreography, her minimalistic approach to videos puts artists front and center.
One thing that struck us so much is the fact that she has such broad range of artists she’s worked with over the years, even dating back to the start of her career. Just as much as she worked with big time artists like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Justin Timberlake, she also showed love to Gang Starr, Method Man, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, and Redman, then still had work with N.E.R.D., Franz Ferdinand, and The White Stripes. Not to mention her campaigns with Coca Cola, Harley Davidson and Reebok.
