Prince – Nothing Compares 2 U (Original Version)

In 1990, Sinéad O’Connor covered The Family‘s “Nothing Compares 2 U” and made the song a smash hit five years after Prince wrote the record for the band. 28 years after the fact, the Prince estate and Warner Bros. have shared a studio version of the Purple One’s original version for the first time ever.

The song was recorded in 1984 in Minnesota at the Flying Cloud Drive “Warehouse,” where we see Prince and The Revolution performing the track above. Although he wrote the song, a solo version with the Purple One has never been heard until today.

This goes to show that even though he has passed, the legendary singer still has plenty of songs in the stash that will appease long time fans and his legacy will continue to live. Expect more music to surface soon.
