Rhythm Roulette: DJ Khalil

Man, DJ Khalil is so underrated. He’s seriously one of the best producers out there and doesn’t get nearly enough credit for his work. Mainly because he’s lowkey. He finally makes it out of the woodworks and joins Rhythm Roulette for another episode.

After being blindfolded and picking out some vinyl, he heads back to the lab to cook up some beats. He had some good picks too. After going through all three selections, he got to work.

The Doors was the one that he found inspiration from.

Next thing you know he’s on the keyboard laying the drums, hi-hats and bass line as the skeleton of the beat. We got to hear a little bit of the final at the end of the episode and it just made us feel like Pusha T or Kendrick Lamar would body the finished version of it.
