ScHoolboy Q Talks Kendrick A&R’ing His Albums, ‘CrasH Talk’ Album on The Breakfast Club

New Music Friday is almost here and after a few years of absence, ScHoolboy Q will be releasing his album CrasH Talk.

Today, he showed up to The Breakfast Club to talk to Charlamagne Tha God and Angela Yee about his album and what he’s got on there, where he’s been at and where he is at mentally after the tragic passing of Nipsey Hussle and Mac Miller.

As far as the album, he says it takes him a while to cement something because, in this case, he switched it up so many times. He had different types of vibes originally (introspective, turn up, etc.) but finally decided to go with this version. He also spoke on Kendrick Lamar helping him with the process, saying he gives his input on every one of his albums, recording adlibs for his songs or telling him to cut verses, dropping beats or other things.

He also talked about his mental state, which he says is better. Nowadays, he’s trying to laugh and smile more because he wants to enjoy life.

Throughout the interview he also spoke on attending the GRAMMYs with his daughter and sitting next to JAY Z, touring, why he’s playing so much golf now, the Black Hippy album that’s never coming out and more.
