The biggest struggle in rap today is rappers putting out sub-par unmastered material. The track might sound like fire, but then you play it in the whip and it has no bass line. Or it sounds muffled to the point we have to turn the volume all the way up to get a good listen. We’re no audiophiles, but we pay attention. We can tell what a studio track sounds like when it’s for an album, compared to what you recorded it in your closet last night.
Why not spend a few extra weeks getting your shit to sound crisp and enjoyable, rather than resort to throwing a track out to “remain relevant,” when it doesn’t even sound good.
Take cues from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, TDE, and the likes, who put out quality material every time out. Then watch your stock skyrocket.
