Anthony Davis Thinks Pelicans Could Make NBA Finals with Healthy DeMarcus Cousins

It took a little while for the New Orleans Pelicans to gel, but when they did, they were unstoppable. Between DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, the two had a powerhouse front court that nobody could compete with. Both guys were averaging double doubles in rebounds and points (25 and 10), something unheard of in today’s game.

Then Boogie went out with an ACL injury right before the All-Star break and those dreams of making a deep run in the playoffs went up in smoke.

During an interview with Rachel Nichols from ESPN’s The Jump to talk about his relationship with Cousins after the injury, what they aspired to this season and more.

“We could have gone through the playoffs. No one could really stop us as bigs. We go to the Finals if we went. Rajon Rondo reminds us of it: ‘You guys are the two best bigs. I know what it takes to win championships; we got it.'”

Without Boogie, AD now feels like he has to put the team on his back and drop 40 for them to have a chance to win. It’s back to life without Boogie, where he had to do the most to put them in the best position to get those W’s.

Davis is focused on this season, but you know he’s thinking about the future and how this injury affects the Pels moving forward.
