If you ask any NFL fan across the country who the best wide receiver in the league is, chance are, a handful of them will say Antonio Brown from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Is Brandon Marshall one of the NFL’s elite? It depends who’s opinion you ask, but as far as receiving yards last season, the New York Jets WR didn’t crack the Top 3. Those honors belonged to Julio Jones, Brown and DeAndre Hopkins. But that’s why Marshall is going as far as betting his own vehicle to prove he’s one of the best in the league. And this isn’t even counting the likes of Demaryius Thomas, Odell Beckham Jr. and A.J. Green.
Brandon took to Instagram to call out Antonio, saying that he will bet his Porsche that he will have more yards receiving this season than him. It’s a good thing he did just as the Jets signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a new contract, because Lord knows that would have been impossible with anyone else at quarterback. There’s no way he would have made this bet if Geno Smith was starting.
So, Marshall wants Brown’s Rolls Royce.
Meanwhile, Antonio responded to the offer with some shots fired and lowkey stunt and sonning.
“He don’t really wanna do that. He just wants some PR. He too old to be doing that. The RR is about $100k up [from the value of the Porsche]. If he really serious, CALL ME … I’ll gladly accept. Don’t Internet it.”
Without Martavis Bryant next season and Le’Veon Bell out for the first few games of the season (as of this post), Antonio looks to be getting even more production in Pittsburgh next season. Him and Big Ben Roethlisberger can light it up like no other with the quickness.
