Chris Paul Is Out 6-8 Weeks After Thumb Surgery

If you were watching the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder at STAPLES Center last night on TNT, you probably caught Chris Paul leave the game early with a thumb injury. It was reminiscent of last season, when CP3 got hurt during the playoffs and was out indefinitely. He knew something was wrong when it happened and kicked a chair on his way to the locker room.

At the time, David Aldridge announced that it was a strain and he’d be out for the game.

Now, the team has revealed that an MRI today showed a torn ligament and Paul will undergo surgery to repair the damage in his left thumb on Wednesay. The bad news is Clippers fans (and the Lob City squad) will be without their point guard for 6-8 weeks.

The Clippers are also without All-Star forward Blake Griffin, who is still recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and is a few weeks away from returning.

The good thing is, Los Angeles is holding on to fourth in the Western Conference.
