Chris Paul Speaks on Joining Rockets, Leaving the Clippers and Helping James Harden

After six years in Los Angeles with the Clippers, Chris Paul was traded and sent packing to the Houston Rockets. This immediately sent shock waves through the NBA because it meant he’d be teaming up with MVP runner-up James Harden next season, when they were already one of the better teams in the Western Conference and in the league.

CP3 talked to ESPN about that move and more during his sit-down with Shelley Smith.

Paul spoke on what he’s going to miss about his old team, why he doesn’t carry any animosity towards what happened and what he’s looking forward to with the Rockets. He said he’s going to try to help Harden and ever since the trade went down, the two have spoken every day about different things. He’s very excited about what the team can do next year, and he’s up for the challenge of building something special.

The only goal in his mind next season: Winning.
