Damian Lillard Finally Explains the Wave That Eliminated the Thunder in Playoffs

We all heard about it. It’s become a meme. It will go down as one of the greatest shots in the NBA Playoff history. Damian Lillard‘s long-range 3-pointer over Paul George to clinch the series and send the Oklahoma City Thunder out of the postseason in the first round.

The shot was so legendary, it broke up the squad, considering Russell Westbrook ended up with the Houston Rockets to play with James Harden and PG13 went to the Los Angeles Clippers to play alongside Kawhi Leonard.

In the latest episode of the Joe Budden Podcast, Dame D.O.L.L.A. was on the show to talk about his album, why he doesn’t play with other ball players during the offseason, that ridiculous SUPERMAX contract, that battle against Marvin Bagley III, not ever getting a verse from Joe for his album, his rap career and more.

During the talk, he was also questioned about his therapist (he doesn’t have one) and revealed why he waved to the Thunder after hitting that dagger this past postseason.

According to Dame, he did it because Russ always does the rock-a-bye baby and he wanted to one-up him by hitting them with the baby wave. The podcast thought it was because he had someone in the crowd he was showing out for, but it wasn’t the case.

You can watch a few segments from the pod above and check what Dolla had to say on the show this past Saturday by checking the whole episode on Spotify.

The next single from the Big D.O.L.L.A. album will be “Moneyball.”
