David Fizdale Talks New Job with Knicks, Young Roster & More

Last week, the New York Knicks announced that David Fizdale would be their new head coach of the future. After being formally announced this past week, he joined the Get Up! crew to talk about his new situation.

In their conversation, Fizdale said that the history and tradition of the Knicks franchise was what made the job appealing to him and he’s looking to bring the team back to prominence. He did acknowledge that it’s going to take and effort from everyone in the organization, top down, to make it happen.

As far as the roster in concerned, he’s excited to have a cornerstone like Kristaps Porzingis and didn’t knock some of the young pieces. Fiz said he’s heard great things from Frank Ntilikina so far.

Considering GODZINGIS is going to be out all of next year (most likely), the Knicks can tank next season and put themselves in position to acquire more young pieces for the future.

Can Fizdale take them back to the playoffs?
