Kevin Durant Confirms He Is Resigning with the Golden State Warriors

How many championships can this Golden State Warriors dynasty win? That is the question. While it will be tough to pay everyone max salaries and keep the same team surrounding Steph Curry, at least one piece will be back for the foreseeable future: Kevin Durant.

KD told ESPN’s Rachel Nichols that he will be resigning with the team today.

This comes at no surprise to anyone, as he went off for 43 points for Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Warriors are one game away from capturing yet another NBA title.

Durant took a discount deal with Golden State when he signed a 2-year, $51 million deal with the organization as he chased his first championship. As of now, he says the details will figure themselves out throughout the course of the negotiations, but he plans on staying in the Bay Area.

Will he take another discount to keep the team together?

The former NBA Finals MVP could either take a 4-year max contract worth a reported $158 million or opt for another 2-year deal with a player option. We’re sure these negotiations will take into account the fact Draymond Green and Klay Thompson future deals are coming up and how they can’t lose key pieces like Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston in the long run.
