Kyle Shanahan Officially Becomes the San Francisco 49ers Head Coach

The San Francisco 49ers had been waiting for the Atlanta Falcons season to end so they could put a contract in front of Kyle Shanahan and lure him to the Bay Area so he could become head coach.

Unfortunately, that ending came in such tragedy when the Dirty Birds allowed Tom Brady and the New England Patriots to come back from a 28-3 deficit and win Super Bowl LI.

Less than 24 hours since the game, the Niners announced that Shanahan would be their head coach.

The contract is reportedly running for six years, but the dollar figure has yet to be released. This makes Kyle the fourth coach in a short period of years, following the dismissal of Jim Harbaugh, Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly at the end of this past season.

San Francisco is hoping the offensive minded coach can fix some of their multitude of problems, but they still have to sort out who will be at quarterback, their defense, etc.

With John Lynch now in as GM, the 49ers are hoping this rebuild goes smoother than the last two.
