The Chip Kelly era in San Francisco has officially come to an end and he’s taking someone else with him too: GM Trent Baalke. The 49ers general manager confirmed the news to KNBR Radio.
The organization has not commented yet, but are expected to do so after today’s game against the Seattle Seahawks and no later than Monday morning.
Kelly has three years remaining on his contract, while Baalke has two left.
The 49ers are moving on to their fourth coach in four years and a top pick in the next draft after having a tumultuous run the past few years. Ever since Jim Harbaugh left for Michigan University.
Chip will finish 2-13 (with a 13-game losing streak) in his only season with the team.
