Kyrie Irving Talks Celtics Trade, and Relationship with LeBron James

One of the biggest story lines of the NBA offseason has been about Kyrie Irving and how he wanted out of Cleveland. He ultimately got traded to the Boston Celtics and now, LeBron James has been left without his star point guard and on a one ticket out of Believeland after this next season.

Kyrie has been relatively quiet about the sitation as of now, only speaking at a press conference about what happened, but he made his way to ESPN’s First Take to talk it out.

On the show, he explained why he made his decision, citing his own happiness and willingness to perfect his craft as key points of why he left and bluntly said he did not speak to LeBron James about his decision because it was his own and nobody else’s.

He also reiterated it had nothing to do with the coaching staff or organization, but he appreciates the fans in Cleveland and is appreciative of his time there. He still respects LeBron, but at the end of this day, he feels this is best for his career at this point in time and people have to respect it.

When it’s all said and done, Kyrie was very mature about the questions aimed his way, he kept a calm composure and answered everything very well.
