Kyrie Irving Thinks That LeBron James Should Have Been MVP

Even though all the talk surrounding the NBA offseason is with LeBron James and Paul George, out in Boston, Kyrie Irving is on the sidelines promoting his new Uncle Drew movie and rehabilitating his knee.

While out in New York, he stopped by Hot 97 to talk to Ebro in the Morning about some basketball, life outside of it and one of his old teammates.

On the topic of NBA MVP (at 10:15), he said he was happy for James Harden winning this year, but there’s two awards at the end of the day:

“I didn’t vote. I didn’t vote. I think MVP is hard to gauge nowadays because now you have the people’s MVP and the NBA’s MVP. I think the people’s MVP was definitely James, but the NBA MVP was definitely Bron.

I mean, if we’re talking strictly based off stats, he checks every mark.”

Kyrie also spoke on being the main guy in Boston, how it felt watching his teammates make it to the Eastern Conference Finals while he was injured, how Uncle Drew came about and standing up for Kehlani.
