LaVar Ball Got Booed After The Draft, Threw BBB Hat In the Stands

The circus surrounding Lavar Ball and Lonzo Ball last night was crazy. He was being interviewed more than some NBA Lottery players. He got more attention, air time and commentary than prospects getting drafted in the Top 10. When Lonzo Ball got picked No. 2 to the Los Angeles Lakers, he took the time to tell everyone “I told you so” and did not hesitate to emphasize how much he predicted it.

After the draft, Lavar and company was heading out of the arena and he was booed by the Barclays Center crowd. Instead of barking back, what did he do? He threw his purple and gold BBB hat to the crowd, which got a surprising reaction from the audience.

As you saw right after Lonzo got picked, Lavar predicted the Lakers in the playoffs his first season, which would be quite the task. Especially since they’ve been in the Top 3 of the lottery the past three years. They’ve literally had one of the worst records in the past five years.

Meanwhile, at the Lakers facility, Luke Walton was asked why Lonzo separated himself from everyone else in the draft and why he expects him to be the starting point guard for the Lakers already. Obviously, his wording was a little careful, since he’s not under contract yet, but he didn’t have to say much. It’s obvious he loves Lonzo and hopes he’ll change the culture in L.A.
