Malika Andrews to Debut New ESPN Show “NBA Today” in October

Following the controversy surrounding Rachel Nichols’ comments towards Maria Taylor right before the NBA Finals, her show The Jump was cancelled. The last day for the series to air is October 8. Replacing it is now Malika Andrews, who hosted The Jump when Nichols was on vacation last month. She will be debuting her new show titled NBA Today on October 18, right before the news season of the league kicks off.

The show will air on ESPN Monday through Friday at 3pm EST.

Analysts like Vince Carter, Kendrick Perkins, Chiney Ogwumike, Zach Lowe, Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelbourne will be joining her on the show as well.

Here’s what Andrews had to say about the new show:

“It’s an incredible time to cover the NBA – a league that is full of characters and stories that have resonance far beyond the sports world. Our goal every day is to deliver information and analysis to our viewers that can’t be gleaned anywhere else. I’m so excited to showcase the league and the talented reporters, analysts and insiders on our team.”

Malika on TV is going to be great and we can’t wait to watch. The interesting thing now will be who will take over NBA Countdown. Time will tell.
