Michael Jordan Says Steph Curry is Not A Hall-of-Fame Player Right Now

Your royal airness Michael Jordan set the NBA world on fire today (no pun), when he was interviewed by NBC and casually said Steph Curry was not a Hall-of-Fame player right now.

In a talk with Craig Melvin on the TODAY show, MJ was speaking on dream starting five and didn’t include the unanimous MVP from the Golden State Warriors. He said he rather go with Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, Hakeem Olajuwon and James Worthy because he played against those guys and was in the trenches with some of them and he knows what they’re all about.

That’s when he threw the slight shot:

“He’s still a great player. Not a Hall of Famer yet, though. He’s not.”

Across the rest of the interview, Jordan also spoke on player activism and being a grandfather, philanthropy, community service and more.

UPDATE: Steph Curry responded to MJ’s claims:

“I think I’m good, but then I’m never complacent. I know I have more to prove to myself. When you hear a guy like that who’s the greatest of all time, it’s kind of funny. Since we’ve been on this stage, we’ve heard a lot of retired guys chiming in on this generation of basketball player and evaluating talent and saying their generation was better and all that. It’s a great conversation for the fans to get in on. I know I’m in good shape for that, but I still have a lot to prove to myself.”
