Michael Jordan Trashes Warriors 73-9 Record In Front of Golden State Owner

Imagine being out with the Golden State Warriors owner. The drinks are flowing, you’re talking shit and all of the sudden you completely shit on his team’s 73-9 record. While he’s standing right there. After the 3-1 series lead and collapse was still fresh in his mind.

That’s exactly what Michael Jordan did one night.

During a visit to 95.7 The Game in San Francisco, Joe Lacob (co-owner of the Warriors) told the story of how it all went down the night Jordan spit on their record.

“There was a moment where he said, ‘You know, ’73 don’t mean [blank].’ He did it. Michael Jordan did that. And I looked at him and I just decided not to make a big deal of it. I said, you know, you’re right, we didn’t win it, we had to get better.”

That’s epic.

Though the Golden State single season record will live in infamy, in Jordan’s eyes (and the eyes of a lot of folks), the Chicago Bulls 1995-96 squad is still the greatest of all time. Remember what Scottie Pippen said, “72-10 don’t mean a thing without the ring.”
