New York Knicks Targeting Mark Jackson as Next Head Coach

If you’re a Knicks fan, Push for this. . .

This summer, LeBron James is expected to make his next free agent move, with all signs pointing to the LA Lakers. With the Boston Celtics also looking to use cap and land another super-max star to pair up with Kyrie Irving; the New York Knicks have somehow found themselves in headlines.

New York’s 2018 playoff hopes were ended last month when Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL after dunking on Giannis Antetokounmpo. Well, it looks like James Dolan could be looking to make the Knicks a destination spot this summer. According to Marc Stein of the NYT, the team is planning to part ways with Jeff Hornaceck, who has another year left on his contract.

At the moment, former Knicks guard, Mark Jackson is being targeted by newly appointed team GM Scott Perry. This move would mark the end of all Phil Jackson internal connections, which some players avoided joining the team due to not wanting to run the triangle.

Before the Golden State Warriors won two of the last three titles, Jackson (and Jerry West) was brains behind creating their Steph Curry-led roster. Whether or not this magic happens in NY remains to be seen, but we’re sure a lot of free agents will be altering their team visits in a few months.
