Russell Westbrook Doesn’t Care About His 51-Point Triple Double in Loss

“I Don’t Give A Fuck About The Line, We Lost!”

The Oklahoma City Thunder were about to tie the series against the Houston Rockets on the road and this battle for MVP was going to start to get good.

After dominating for three quarters and playing nearly perfect up to that point, Russell Westbrook took a breather and that’s when things fell apart for OKC. His team was up by double digits when he went to the bench for some water and in 90 seconds, he saw that lead cut down to three in virtually the blink of an eye. Obviously, Russ was frustrated by the supporting cast giving up that kind of margin, and immediately got back into the game.

The Thunder ultimately lost to the Rockets as Westbrook couldn’t hit shots down the stretch to put them within striking distance and now the series is 0-2 heading to Oklahoma City.

After the game, Russell was asked about what happened and what he thought of his stat line for the night. As you may know, he had a career night, scoring the most points with a triple double in NBA history (he had 51 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds) but based on his answer from the reporters, he didn’t give a fuck about any of that.

The Thunder lost and that’s all that matters to him. Especially in crucial playoff games like this.

Meanwhile, James Harden dropped 35 points and had 8 assists, while Eric Gordon had 22 points and Lou Williams had 21 points off the bench, respectively. That offensive firepower coming off the bench is deadly and the Thunder are going to have to play better defense down the stretch to have any chance to tie this series at home.

FINAL: HOU 115 | OKC 111

UPDATE: Russ has been fined $15,000 for his profanity at the post-game press conference.
