Saints Trade Adrian Peterson to the Cardinals for Draft Pick

That New Orleans Saints experiment for Adrian Peterson has come to an end after five weeks in the season. AP wasn’t involved in coach Sean Payton’s offense, because running backs on the roster like Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara are holding down a lion’s share of the snaps.

This all came to a roaring head in Week 1, when the two were caught in a spat on the sidelines. He was frustrated with the amount of times he touched the ball and it he got fewer touches ever since. Peterson has only rushed for 81 yards this season, on 27 carries.

He will now join a backfield for the Arizona Cardinals, that is without their leading back David Johnson, who is out for a few more weeks with a wrist injury.

The Cards rank at the top of the NFL when it comes to passing offense, but are dead last if we’re talking about their rushing. Peterson will be looking to breathe life into it.

The Saints will receive an undisclosed 2018 draft pick in exchange for AP.
