Steph Curry Suffers MCL Sprain in Return to Warriors Lineup

In what was supposed to be a relaxed return to the Golden State Warriors lineup after suffering an ankle injury and missing six games, the worst has happened for the team and their leader Steph Curry.

With only three minutes left in the third quarter and minding his own business on the court, JaVale McGee was contesting a shot in front of him and managed to fall on Curry’s leg. He immediately started hopping around in pain, in what looked like a serious knee injury.

Steph managed to limp back to the bench in frustration as the team therapist checked the injury. Minutes later, he could be seen trying to limp back to the locker room.

Initial prognosis is that he suffered an MCL sprain, but an MRI will be taken tomorrow to determine the extent of the injury.

Curry finished the game leading all Warriors players with 29 points and 7 rebounds in 25 minutes of play as the Warriors beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-94.

UPDATE: Woj says Curry suffered a Grade 2 sprain on his MCL and will be evaluated in three weeks. He could return in time for the playoffs.
