Terry Rozier Explains Young Celtics Team Mentality, Breakout Performance in Playoffs

Young Terry Rozier became a breakout star for the Boston Celtics this playoffs, not only because of his Drew Bledsoe cosign, but by his play on the court when Kyrie Irving went down and was sidelined with that injury. Rozier was such an enigma, enough that he garnered a new nickname: Scary Terry.

This morning on ESPN’s Get Up!, he talked about messing up Eric Bledsoe‘s name on the podium, why he plays with a chip on his shoulder, his mentality when his teammates were down with injury and what this year’s postseason was like.

Not only that, but he broke down tape of Steph Curry and how he guards him.

As you can see in comparison, the Celtics are better defensively than the Cavs in the NBA Finals and Terry explains why. He says they try to contest every shot, they don’t lose sight of Steph when he’s moving without the ball and they play the screen high so he doesn’t get in rhythm. He also reveals that he likes to play through screens and tries to keep him going towards side because he’s such a threat from the outside, as well as cutting to the basket.

This is something Cleveland isn’t doing against him, which is why he torched them in triples for Game 2, setting a new NBA Finals record in 3-pointers made.
