Watch Lonzo Ball’s L.A. Lakers Debut at Summer League

Friday night’s big story was the debut of Lonzo Ball for his new team, the Los Angeles Lakers. The UCLA product brought the crowds out in Las Vegas against the Clippers and everyone was waiting to watch an electric show from him. Unfortunately, that didn’t quite happen.

Lonzo went 2-15 from the field and missed a bunch of shots, but he did have some highlights.

On the Lakers very first possession, Lonzo lobbed the ball to Brandon Ingram for the alley-oop. The crowd went wild after that first play. Then in the second quarter, he went in for the put-back layup to get some points on the boar for the Lakers.

Besides that, he was super quiet offensively, only scoring a 3-pointer in the second half.

Ball finished with 5 points, 5 assists and didn’t look like No. 2 talent, compared to how some other rookies in his class have been playing thus far. But it’s Summer League.

Ingram showed out, though. He dropped 26 points in the overtime loss.

Oh, and LaVar Ball? He was out here guaranteeing the Lakers were going to make the playoffs and his son Lonzo would be the Rookie of the Year next season. Speaking into existence.
