Childish Gambino Reportedly in Bidding War with Major Record Labels

Take a “Chance”

Last month, Childish Gambino celebrated his sixth RIAA certification, with the single Redbone going gold. However, with three independently released albums having success in the digital and physical realm – it looks like the three major labels are reportedly in a bidding war.

The actor-musician-comedian is currently filming Han Solo: A Star Wars Story and has plans of shooting the sophomore season of Atlanta in the coming months. While those major projects are absorbing the bulk of his work load plate in 2017, his biggest role to date will happen soon after, with the live-action remake of Disney’s Lion King. Gambino plans to star as Simba the Prince, as the bidding war between Warner, Universal and Sony should heat up in the coming months.

As Donald looks to find rare time and finish up his collaborative project with Chance the Rapper, we’re assuming a bigger rollout for his senior album will take place.
