Joe Budden Weighs In on Lil Yachty’s Album Cover, Says He’s “Ruining The Culture”

Last week Lil Yachty revealed the official artwork for his upcoming new album Teenage Emotions. It came with a little bit of controversy with what was depicted on the album cover. That was one of the first topics of discussion on Complex’s freshly started #Everyday Struggle daily series with Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks.

After congratulating Kendrick Lamar on his No. 1 album DAMN., the two went on to debate and breakdown the Teenage Emotions artwork. Akademiks was the first to weigh in on the topic saying he loved it, stating that he feels like album cover featured ‘social rejects’ in a positive light. Pointing out that rappers would call those individuals depicted would be considered weirdos or corny.

Joe Budden wasn’t with it. The rapper says he doesn’t want to talk about Yachty or the label in which he is signed to, and the only thing he liked about the cover was the support of the gay community and it being a smart business move. Where the two later went on to debate if Yachty makes himself out to “look gay” and nothing about the cover being genuine.

Budden went on a little rant where he straight called out Yachty saying he is “ruining the culture” and that he should not be accepted by the culture.
