Taxstone Indicted for Murder in Irving Plaza Shooting

The Saga continues. . .

Thursday afternoon, Daryl ‘Taxstone’ Campbell was back in court for more news regarding his incarceration. After pleading guilty to federal gun charges in the Irving Plaza shooting, that left one man dead and several others injured, Mr. Campbell was officially charged with second degree murder yesterday. The 31-year-old has maintained his innocence, pleading not guilty during yesterday’s hearing for alleged involvement in the death of Ronald McPhatter.

According to prosecutors, Taxstone and Troy Ave engaged in a brief altercation, which led to Mr. McPhatter coming to the defense of his brother. Unfortunately, a series of events happened soon after, resulting in Ronald being victim in the process and Ave being shot multiple times. Troy was arrested the following day on attempted murder and weapon charges, after security footage showed him firing the same gun that was used to kill his friend.

However, Taxstone wasn’t arrested until earlier this year, when police connected him to the murder weapon, which he pleaded guilty to two federal weapon counts. Currently, Tax and his lawyers plan to the fight this case, as they wait for sentencing regarding the gun charges.
