We all know the story of how Kyrie Irving wanted out of the Cleveland Cavaliers so he could establish his own path and move away from being in LeBron James‘ shadow.
One tidbit that we were not aware of up until last night came by way of Lil Rel Howery at the Oscars red carpet, who explained the exact moment of when Kyrie got traded to the Boston Celtics. Only because he was there shooting the Uncle Drew movie with him.
According to Howery, he heard of the trade rumors like everyone else, through ESPN. He wanted to ask Irving about it so bad, but he wasn’t too close with him at the time. So, after they finally met, they talked about it a bit and through shooting the movie, news broke out about his trade.
Turns out, he was extremely happy about the news and in the middle of filming, he ran out the set and started dancing. Apparently, the scene is in the movie and when people watch it on-screen, they will see his joy through dance moves.
